Responsibilities
Hands-on DevOps infrastructure engineering role
You’ll be responsible for managing the Securrency SaaS platform on Microsoft Azure. This includes deploying test, development, customer POCs, and dedicated customer environments.
You’ll be driving long-term improvement to our SaaS platform: if you find a way for our SaaS platform to be enhanced with automation, observability, or security, drive it to implementation!
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the Securrency platform continues to be 100% Infrastructure as Code (IaC). From day one, we’ve invested in Terraform-based IaC deployment and we don’t perform manual changes.
The ability to learn and adapt is highly valued, and you will need the ability to get up to speed quickly.
The role is internally facing. You’ll be working closely with our Blockchain and QA team to support requests, resolve issues, and drive long-term platform improvement.
There is no management responsibility in this role.

In the first month, expect to:
Work on an isolated engineering challenge, such as replacing our Kubernetes ingress controller in a development environment, or writing Terraform code to deploy a blockchain ledger. This is the place to get familiar with our SaaS platform, make mistakes, and get your hands dirty. Your challenge is to break our demo environment in a new way and write an observability check to detect what you did.
We’re going to review your existing technology certifications and agree on your study plan for the year. We require all engineering staff to sit 4 exams per year to ensure you stay hands-on and stay on the leading edge of technology. We don’t mind which certifications you sit for so long as they’re related to your work and you’re committed to being a Top 5% expert at what you do. Your first week is 100% training and hopefully, you’ll have passed your first exam at the end of week 2!
In the first three months, expect to:
You’ll be working with our DevOps group to implement some major changes. Perhaps you’ll be deploying our SaaS app into a new Azure region!
You’ll have passed 2 of your 4 certification exams, and will review your progress.
In the first year, expect to:
You’ll have deployed our SaaS platform multiple times, into new regions and new customers.
You’ll have passed 4 exams and are well on the way to being in the Top 5% of what you do!
Requirements
Familiarity with the CI/CD approach and tools for infrastructure management (Azure DevOps experience preferred)
Experience working with distributed systems, availability, and disaster recovery.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (mandatory)
Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) (mandatory)
Hands-on experience with Terraform (mandatory). All of our infrastructures is deployed via Terraform.
Hands-on experience with Linux (mandatory) server engineering.
Hands-on experience with scripting (either Bash, PowerShell, Python, or other languages)
Optional: Hands-on knowledge of Ansible. We’re interested in what Ansible Playbooks you’ve written before
Optional: Hands-on experience building dashboards on an observability platform (Datadog preferred).
Optional: If you have a GitHub or technical blog, we’d be very interested in seeing what you’ve worked on
