Job Description : An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic full-time back-end software developer to join the IT team in Birmingham, primarily tasked with modernising in-house applications.Reporting to the Head of IT Development, this role is key to the business and you will be part of a small team that delivers a lot.Rewards:Competitive SalaryAnnual salary reviewsMedical and dental cover for you and your familyContinuous training and development programCareer development and progression25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (33 days in total FTE)Staff discounts for treatments (subject to suitability assessment)Responsibilities include:Migrating legacy VB .Net 4.0 code to C# .Net Core using modern methodologies.Ensuring that development work is scheduled realistically and completed in a timely mannerTesting, quality assurance and releasing of back-end softwareCreating well-structured code using best practice and meeting in-house standardsWorking with Head of IT Development to introduce new technologies and methods of working within the development teamWorking with the IT Support Team to help resolve software issues.Working within company policies and proceduresEssential skills/experience required:A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar back-end software development role.Strong SQL and .NET (C#, VB.NET 4.0 and later, .Net Web API) skillsExperience of Entity FrameworkASPX skills.Able to take complete control of a project and see it through to completion.Desirable skills/experience required:Experience using AngularExperience of T-SQL, stored procedure and function coding on SQL server. Designing table/views and building Schedule Jobs.Managing source code using version control software.Experience of Microsoft DevOps team workload management.You will be inducted into the Company through our detailed and comprehensive training program.
