Our Media & Events business is looking for a Business Development Specialist for a 6 month fixed term contract, who is ambitious, motivated and will hit the ground running to play a key role in delivering delegate sales for our suite of world class events. About the Role
The Business Development Specialist, Event Delegate Sales will be responsible for:
Hitting or exceeding your monthly and annual targets and maintaining consistently strong performance at 100% of your YTD goals
Hitting or exceeding your daily contact targets and activity metrics
Calling marketing leads, data base generated lists provided by Marketing, and referrals to create, nurture and convert delegate sales opportunities for our suite of B2B events
Prospecting and cold calling self-generated lists (e.g., from social marketing mediums or Salesforce prospect lists) where appropriate
Securing sales opportunities through calling, emailing, social media and other lead generation activities
Qualifying and following up inbound leads coming from various sources
Undertaking activities in support of Marketing campaigns and events to support the organizations’ strategic objectives
Managing the lead pipeline and workload through the effective use of CRMs, telephony and other supporting technology
Providing insight and business intelligence to improve effectiveness and performance across all lead channel activities and campaigns
Developing and building sustainable relationships with internal sales stakeholders
About You
You’re a fit for this Business Development Specialist role if you have:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
Engaging, energetic and coachable communicator with a keen interest in sales and/or marketing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Agile learners – ability to learn something new
Commitment to a schedule that coincides with the customer’s workday
Strong customer service and organization skills
Excellent interpersonal skills – the ability to communicate, persuade and influence diverse stakeholder groups
A team player able to work collaboratively and in a complex matrix environment
Results-focused and self-motivated
