We are looking for a dynamic and innovative paediatric nurse who is keen to be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting children and young people with endocrine conditions.
Experience in endocrine is desirable but not essential as you will be supported to gain these skills by nursing and medical colleagues within the existing service.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the management of a caseload of patients working collaboratively and significantly within the children’s multidisciplinary Endocrinology team.
Assess the care needs of children, young people, and their families with endocrine and associated conditions. Advise accordingly and implement programmes of care which are designed, evaluated and amended as appropriate.
Support the care of patients with endocrine and associated conditions across the region and when required attend clinics in Derby, Lincoln, Newark, Boston and Mansfield

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Work as part of a team of nurse specialists; this may involve leading on particular aspects of care with the support of senior colleagues. This will include covering the work of others in their absence.
Maintain and ensure accurate patient records in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. For example; at all times to comply with the Information Governance Code.
Lead on some programmes of care and manage a caseload of patients as part of the team ensuring these are quality assured, evaluated and improved as appropriate.
Document the condition and progress of children and young people and liaise with senior staff re any areas of concern.
Manage data collection and inputting of data for commercial growth hormone study.
When required, and as agreed, with other senior staff deliver care within community settings for example at the child’s/young person’s home or at school.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.

Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service – I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
