Job Description : Position Overview:
We are hiring a Clinical Pathologist that fits the requirement for Clinical Governance Officer under PHMC and the new HCSA requirements. This role will be responsible for all test modules generated by Nalagenetics’ partner labs and registered software.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining information security.
Uphold MOH specified roles for a Clinical Governance Officer under HSCA (refer to Section 6.1.)
Assume professional, scientific, consultive, administrative, and educational responsibilities for the services provided.
Design and approve verification and validation experiments of tests that will be offered in the clinical laboratory, including external quality assessments
Assume responsibility for the safety for all staff.
Review and endorse laboratory protocols related to clinical workflow
Verify and endorse the necessary reports relating to the analysis of clinical samples
Provide medical viewpoint on clinical tests to launch and/or develop
Achieve compliance with designated international laboratory standards
Any other duties assigned by the CEO/COO from time to time.
Experience Required:
Has 5 years of working experience in a clinical laboratory with molecular genetics and relevant lab directorship experience
Experience in start-up or academic environment (preferred)
Education Qualification:
Registered Clinical Pathologist in Singapore

About Nalagenetics
Nalagenetics is a medical technology company focusing on personalized screening and intervention. Nalagenetics aims to provide an affordable and actionable end-to-end genetic testing that is relevant to the local populations. The company has four product pillars: Clinical Decision Support for physicians, genetic tests (currently based on qPCR), Knowledge Base and algorithms to generate clinically actionable reports, and Patient Engagement.
Our first application is pre-emptive pharmacogenomics in outpatient settings. We created Nala PGx Core, a qPCR-based assay targeting 20 of the most common pharmacogenomic variants, and Nala Clinical Decision Support, a cloud-based portal for physicians to manage their tested patient populations, and Nala Personal Health Manager, a mobile app to record response, remission, relapse, adverse drug reactions, and adherence.
We launched our flagship service in pharmacogenomics for hospitals as Lab Developed Tests (LDT) in collaboration with POLARIS and Atma Jaya University in Singapore and Indonesia respectively in 2020, targeting 160+ cardiovascular, psychiatry, pain, and other chronic medications. We expect to expand into Malaysia, Thailand, and Europe in the next year via CE-IVD certification of our Clinical Decision Support system. We were incubated at Harvard’s Venture Incubation Program and Harvard Business School’s Rock Accelerator and Summer Fellowship, and accepted in Techstars NY.
Nalagenetics is mission-driven: two of our co-founders have seen first-hand adverse reaction through close family members- that experience taught us advanced innovations are in pharma and biotech would not mean much without knowing how to best apply it to our population.
