Job Description : Jump Start Centre is currently seeking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist to support children and families in our independent practice based in Essex.Jump Start Centre is a well-established specialist in Paediatric Occupational Therapy service, based in Witham, Essex, treating and assessing children in Essex, Suffolk and North East London. We launched our Clinical Psychology Service in Spring 2021 and are excited to be expanding our team further.Jump Start Centre provides high quality, multi-dimensional sensory integration, sensory attachment and psychological assessments and treatment to children, adolescents and their families. Assessments provide families with support to understand their children’s attachment, trauma, developmental, psychological and sensory needs. The Clinical Psychologist in the post will be able to assess and provide bespoke formulation-driven interventions to support children and families’ individual and systemic needs.This is an exciting new post in which the Clinical Psychologist will have an opportunity to shape the service development and provision of a growing multidisciplinary service. We highly value our staff and provide opportunities to support continuous professional development in line with service provision and your areas of interest. You will receive high quality and regular peer, clinical and management supervision. Along with direct client-facing work, there will also be opportunities to offer training to parents/carers and professionals. We strongly believe in the benefits of multidisciplinary working and along with the ability to work autonomously, you will also have opportunities to work closely with our team of highly specialized Paediatric Occupational Therapists.This post is available to start as soon as possible, and we will consider flexible working, part-time as well as full-time applicants.Skills and experience needed:Post-graduate doctoral-level training in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996)Registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner PsychologistPost-doctoral training and recorded CPD experienceKnowledge and experience in working with attachment and traumaExperience and skills in selecting, administering and interpreting assessment tools, including clinical interviews, psychometric measures and neuropsychological assessments across the lifespanExperience in preparing highly complex psychological assessment reports, detailing appropriate formulations and recommendationsKnowledge and experience of specialized therapies for children and adolescents with attachment difficulties and developmental traumaWell-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing, technical and clinically sensitive information to families and other professionalsAbility to maintain a high degree of professionalism and compassion in the face of highly emotive and distressing problemsFurther, we are especially interested in Clinical Psychologists who have:Clinical experience of working with children, young people and families/carers who have been affected by trauma, separation and lossClinical experience and understanding of Dynamic Maturational Model of Attachment and Neurosequential Model of TherapeuticsClinical experience and/or interest in supporting adoption/SGO/looked-after-children, including evidence of psychological assessment and treatment with this population groupClinical experience and/or interest in supporting children and families with neurodiverse presentationsExperience in the development and delivery of teaching and trainingKnowledge and delivery of a range of family support and evidence-based interventions which effectively support children, adolescents and families, such as:Trauma-focused therapy, such as EMDR;Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy;Systemic Therapy;Nature-Based Therapies;Internal Family SystemsJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentSalary: £38,026.00-£47,126.00 per yearSchedule:Monday to FridayLicence/Certification:HCPC (required)
