Job Description : Vines Group is looking for a Credit Controller.
Your role
As a Credit Controller, you will maintain a proper and effective system of credit control, whilst delivering what non-accounting colleagues may require in terms of analysed and interpreted information. You will also provide cover support to other members of the accounts team.
Responsibilities:
Checking customer’s credit ratings with Experian and decide accordingly whether or not to offer the credit
Ensure that customers pay Vines within agreed credit terms
Dealing with internal queries about payments
Follow up late payments with effective credit control methods of notice letters and telephone communications
Feedback any legitimate reasons for non-payment to department managers
Adopt a flexible approach, enthusiastic and driven approach to achieving the financial goals of the business
Contribute to maintaining a high level of housekeeping and attention to health and safety issues as to create a healthy and safe working environment.
Willingly carry out any other duties deemed appropriate by the Company.
Please note that this vacancy is being offered with the opportunity to work from either our Crawley, Guildford or Redhill locations.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday with the option of working from home.
Your profile
Characteristics/experience beneficial to this role include:
Must have a good understanding of accounts double entry for Purchase and Sales Ledger
Ability to work accurately in a busy accounts environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working with insurance companies and their requirements
Qualified by experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Working knowledge of Drive (previously known as Kerridge/CDK)
Working knowledge dealing with Vehicle Service Plan providers
Working knowledge dealing with Vehicle Warranty Accounts
Must have worked with credit rating companies and interpret their reports
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to work under pressure
Be approachable and support internal and external customers of the accounts department
