With this mission, we are setting up a Data as a Service team at Novartis Hyderabad, which would work with the Chief Digital Office, Novartis Business units and industry leading technology partners, to drive the execution of Novartis’ data strategy , turning its rich data resources into real strategic assets to drive actionable insights across the organization. This ambition is one of key pillars in the broader digital transformation happening at Novartis to be a ‘medicines and data science company.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Bring deep domain understanding in Commercial operations, Sales & Marketing. Experience in working in Pharma / Life Science industry is strongly preferredUnderstand business-specific data systems / platforms & underlying architecture to identify existing challenges & gaps through data analysisAnalyze and interpret requirements for their viability against the business objective, and validate by cross-referencing / workshops with all customers (source systems, downstream systems, end users, developers, testing & UI team, data strategy)
Maintain checklist & record of project requirements throughout project lifecycle via Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)Support early prototyping or solution testing through data analysis, error identification, data flow verification, feature specifications and feasibility
Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within area of responsibilityDeliver on data strategy priorities for key digital programs in an AGILE manner with appropriate documentation and communication throughout the delivery of services

Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
Education (minimum/desirable): Bachelors / Masters in Computer Sciences / IT or other quantitative sciences
3-5 years’ experience in a Global company as a data steward, data analyst or business analyst
Business understanding of pharmaceutical industry and data standards. Domain experience in at least one of the following areas – a) Pharma R&D, b) Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain and c) Marketing and Sales. Experience in working in Pharma / Life Science industry strongly preferred
Understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) using different data modeling methodologiesExperience on data wrangling including Ingestion, Unification, Anonymization, Search, Master & Meta Data Management and Governance. Brings in clear understanding on the linkage of Master data to various business processes.Deep Understanding & working knowledge on DataIKU. Hand on experience in working with ETL process, and programming/scripting skills (SQL, Alteryx, Python) for data preparation and analysis
Good understanding of Big Data technologies, Cloud understanding (AWS / AZURE / GCP) with good understanding of NoSQL databases, MPP Databases (SNOWFLAKE / Azure Synapse etc)Development experience using Databricks / Pyspark would be an additional advantage. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and presentation skills with problem solving and analytical thinking would be preferred
