Job Description : The position will provide leadership within the Financial Markets Solutions division responsible for the delivery of IHS Markit’s Debtdomain, a web-based SaaS platform for managing the loan syndication process from pitch through Agency, covering Origination, Syndication, Sales, Trading, Investor CRM, Deal Pipeline, Compliance and Secure Document Distribution. The platform has been used for tens of thousands of deal launches by hundreds of bank and institutional clients since 2002 and includes hundreds of thousands of loan professionals in its global database. The role will also include leadership responsibilities for the Prism platform, IHS Markit’s Virtual Data Room solution, which shares .
The role is responsible for leading global teams of Engineers in support of this mission with additional support from the wider technology organization. The ideal applicant will be passionate about technology, have an organized and creative mind-set (thought leader) that drives him or her to find innovative solutions to common problems with the right toolset.
Duties and Accountabilities
Build and grow multiple teams of engineers globally to transform, grow and support the Debtdomain and Prism platforms
Liaise with senior technology partners, architects and global industry experts across the team to establish and evolve the technical direction for the platform
Participate in system design and changes in system architecture for the Debtdomain platform. Take ownership of Prism’s ambitious document backend re-engineering project with a view to integrating it across the wider Solutions ecosystem
Contribute to budget analysis as it relates to technology selection, project planning, and resource management
Accountability for delivery from the teams, ensuring best levels of velocity and quality
Drive innovation and adoption of best practices
Business Competencies
15+ years of experience managing high performing software development teams and building mission-critical platforms
Excellent architecture and design skills
Strong understanding of cloud technology (we use AWS)
Focus on Microsoft stack, but knowledge on cross-platform and open-source tech
Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment with mature CI/CD infrastructure
Experience working across front-end (React/Angular) and backend is a plus
Experience working in a global environment with stakeholders distributed around the globe
Good understanding of testing best practices and testing automation tools
Commercial Awareness
A strong understanding of the finance sector and in particular the loan deal making and syndication process is a plus
Ability to demonstrate a good business acumen is a plus
