Job Description : DAS UK Group, a market-leading insurance and legal services provider, has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Financial Accounting & Control to join the Finance department in a high-profile managerial role. As part of a global insurance group with our own law firm, we have experience, scale and strength, and an impressive portfolio of products and services. As such, DAS has been a renowned specialist in protecting businesses and individuals for over 40 years.Working in a dynamic environment, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role to team’s success. As well as managing the Technical Accounting team to produce high-quality, timely financial information for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, this role will also support the Head of Financial Accounting and Control and deputise where appropriate.A key element to this role will be to manage the Technical Accounting team to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of the accounting ledgers for DAS UK Group companies, including local and Group (IFRS17) ledgers for the insurance company. As such, we’d like to hear from candidates who have previous experience of managing a team.About YouThis role would suit a qualified Accountant (CIMA ACA or equivalent) with appropriate PQE and an in-depth knowledge of insurance accounting under IFRS4 & IFRS17.This is a great opportunity for somebody to showcase their ability to build good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and utilise excellent verbal and written communication and presentational skills.Skills/knowledge/experience: Extensive insurance industry and insurance accounting knowledge;An ability to build good working relationships with colleagues from a variety of disciplines;A background of embedding and reviewing financial controls; andA good understanding of both internal and external audit practices to facilitate efficient accounts and process reviews.Please note that whilst this is a full-time permanent position, we want to support our employees to achieve a work-life balance that works for them and are happy to discuss flexible working options.
