Job Description : We are looking for an experienced Developer Advocate to join our growing Developer Advocate team at Syniverse. You will be customer point of contact for our Communication APIs (CPaaS) and help developers discover, implement, and succeed with our APIs.

You’ll collaborate with our Product Managers, Development and Engineering teams to understand all Syniverse product offerings and then work to create and deliver great content that will engage and inspire developers at all skill levels.

As a Developer Advocate Engineer in Sales Engineering team, you will play a critical role in providing detailed technical information to our customers, partners, and internal teams, as well as bringing feedback back to the product and engineering teams. We’re looking for someone who can work with our customers’ developers to help them understand how to integrate their software and ecosystems with APIs available from Syniverse. We want individuals with a combination of technical and business savvy to help create innovative technical solutions to real business problems. You’ll know the difference between what makes for an “OK” developer experience and what makes for an exceptional one that keeps developers loyal and coming back for more.

This role will be working closely with the Sales Engineering teams and will help to transition customers from the pre-sales stage into our production environments acting as the technical SME to help customers to work and benefit from the Syniverse APIs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop sample apps, SDKs for Syniverse APIs based on use cases that demonstrate capabilities of Syniverse’s APIs
Be a subject matter expert on our product use cases, customer needs, market trends, and using APIs in mobile
Work with solution engineers in sales and customers on integration with Syniverse’s APIs to help ensure successful integration
Build inspiring demos and proof of concepts to demonstrate various use cases for Syniverse’s APIs
Document customer solutions to be used as examples / training / best practices for other customers and partners
Help with documentation efforts for our API-based services
Work with prospective and existing customers, helping them to accelerate adoption of Syniverse APIs.
Own Tech chapter discussions internally and externally, and work close with the internal development and product teams to learn about the new APIs and solutions that are coming up to be ready to discuss it with customers
Confident and comfortable presenting and discussing APIs to different types of audiences, large and small including technical and business leads.
Intellectually curious, with great problem-solving skills
Collaborate with cross-functional team members, internal & external, to drive ideation, co-creation and technical architecture development.
Job Requirements:
Technical/Skills Required:
Technically-savvy to set up demo/lab environments using REST APIs
Background working with APIs in retail or financial markets a plus
Previous experiences with writing code in multiple languages (Java/Python/PHP/C#) that integrates with web or cloud-based APIs, or writing code that exposes APIs for other services to consume
Previous experience with API gateways and infrastructure such as Mulesoft
Experience working with Postman and creating API libraries
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Sales support experience desirable
Prior experience in SQL
Experience working in a Linux environment is a plus
Qualifications/Requirements:
Entry-level with BE/BS in computer engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field
At least 2 years in a customer-facing technical role
3+ years’ experience in some combination of app development, IT, software development, product management, and/or sales engineering roles
Feel comfortable working in a fast paced, matrixed environment to solve challenges for our customers
Experience in working within cross-functional teams (Sales Engineering, product, marketing, customer success, etc).
You are a strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts both in writing and in person.
Speaking/writing proficiency in English required
