Ideal candidates are critical thinkers who skillfully identify and articulate weaknesses in video’s organization, and communicate any such concerns with relevant stakeholders, both independently and in a distributed team environment, and reliably meet deadlines.Candidates must possess passing knowledge of software concepts and technologies (such as mobile application development, responsive design, cloud computing, big data and analytics, and agile and lean development). The video team works with authors to build and maintain a pipeline of licensed videos that go out to various high-stake partners.What you’ll do?Review video content and evaluate the material against quality guidelines to identify if the material is fit for publicationManage the development process so that videos are being reviewed by due dates, and all assets including video, covers, metadata, resource/code files are present in the final publication packageGauge the technical accuracy of material you review.Provide project status and content assessment to Senior Editors, Project Managers and other Packt staffContribute to the ongoing assessment and improvement of editorial procedures and standardsEnhance metadata for video course being publishedWork to understand the needs of the audience and identify if the material meets those requirementsReview already published material for errors, or issues which might hamper the students learning experienceResolve issues reported by customers or partners for already published materialWho you are?An editor with a general understanding of technical concepts, software development, and current industry trends1+ years previous substantive editing experience on a digital productStrong project- and time-management skillsExcellent organization and multitasking skillsMust be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), and other tools required in an online environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable communicating via email, Skype, Teams, and phoneMust have remote office setup (decent internet connection with bandwidth suitable to download large files quickly; example: 20mpbs connection)Why work at Packt?We recognize how important our people are and acknowledge and support the things that are important to them.
