Role Description
This is a great opportunity to lead an experienced, successful and highly capable team based in SAP Concur’s Maidenhead UK office. The team’s mission is to automate complex, high volume compliance business processes. We are looking for a hands on Development Manager who is highly technical and able to contribute to architecture, design and coding. This position is highly visible and well supported.
Responsibilities
Lead the Agile (SCRUM) development team to deliver high quality, robust product features and architecture changes.
Work with Technical Product Management to inform product strategy and to prioritise development work in line with business needs.
Work with senior leadership to evolve the SDLC and operational support
Own the teams backlog and ensure user stories are prioritised in line with Product Management objectives and engineering operational needs
Proactively manage the tech of 7-8 engineers (e.g. salary, promotions, goals, coaching, development) and enable the transition to a hybrid mode of collaboration
Accountable for team performance and for delivering the combined technical and functional product roadmap.
The technical environment includes:
Docker containers deployed to AWS/EKS clusters.
mySQL, AKKA, Springboot, SCALA, Java, Javascript
Desired Qualifications
BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent years of work experience.
2+ years proven management experience in a related role.
7+ years hands on software development experience in related technologies.
Experience developing web applications is a must.
Knowledge of object oriented programming. Any knowledge of the AKKA framework and SCALA would be an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to adapt to changing working conditions and assignments.
Exceptional interpersonal and team building skills.
Ability to pass a background check.
