Job Description : The Wealth Management business has been on a Digital transformation journey, as we look to provide our clients with a suite of self-service capabilities allowing them to transact with us in a manner and channel of their choice, and thereby remove friction from the various touchpoints. The Digital Technology team is partnering with our business to aggressively expand our digital offerings over both Web and Mobile by designing, building and rolling out world-class digital solutions. The Digital Technology team in Glasgow is seeking a Technical Lead who will play a senior role to join us on this journey. You will be responsible for shaping the technology technical strategy, prioritizing and planning the book of work, coordinating the workforce strategy, and providing strategic alignment and transformation for the Digital Technology in the region. As a leader of organizational, operational and technological change, you’ll build partnerships with business and technology groups across Wealth Management. You will be responsible for driving and managing the technical delivery of our Digital initiatives. You will be part of a dynamic team that will work closely with product owners, as well as interact globally with business stakeholders, product owners and other application developers at all levels of the organization. As a technical lead, the role requires you to have sound technical skills and experience in at least a few technologies such as Java, Angular, Kubernetes, Native Mobile development / React Native, Microsoft SQL Server. The role requires you to have experience managing medium to large scale technical programs, working with business and technical partners distributed globally. A must-have ability is to break down complex business goals and requirements into specifications and a prioritized plan and to lead the engineering team to execute. Key Responsibilities:
Partner with key business stakeholders to ensure appropriate relationship management across Digital Wealth Management businesses as well as Glasgow technology leadership
Managing scope, timelines and prioritization of projects and backlog, working closely with business stakeholders and product owners.
Ensuring all requirements are elaborated to the appropriate level of details and items that are in or out of scope are negotiated with relevant stakeholders.
Define design and architecture for all solutions built as part of the project
Individual development contribution across some or all of the various components of the system, including front-end, back-end services and database
Manage and oversee the contributions of other developers in the team
Face off to and manage business and technology stakeholders across the organization, including front-office business, product owners, other technology teams and technology/business management.
Follow and promote Agile practices like Scrum and TDD/BDD
Ensure consistency with and synergy across the global platform by collaborating regularly with peers across the global Digital team.
Active involvement in supporting the Digital platform across all environments, including production in a devops model
Overseeing and coordinating UAT with all teams and stakeholders
Face off to and manage business and technology stakeholders across the organization, including front-office business, product owners, other technology teams and technology/business management.
This role requires a wide variety of skills, strengths and capabilities, including:
Expert in at least some of the technologies Java, Angular, Kubernetes, Native Mobile development, React Native, Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with middleware/messaging technologies such as MQ, JMS, Kafka, etc. and exposure to event-driven design patterns
Proven experience in setting up the structure, reporting and management routines required to manage a technology organization like a business including but not limited to organizational design, resource management, vendor management, and delivery portfolio management
Proven strong financial and operational management discipline, including managing direct and indirect expenses and having a strong understanding of product economics and cost drivers, cost allocations and recoveries
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with impeccable executive communication skills
Experience in project managing large scale Technology projects that involve distributed engineering teams
Ability to define and manage technology roadmaps in collaboration with business and execute on those roadmaps
Experience and understanding in writing detailed requirements that are both business-friendly as well as relevant for technology development teams to convert into design and implementation.
Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
