Job Description : Job Description for Director, Model Governance
Join us as we work to transform Thomson Reuters into a truly data-driven company.
This is a key role and working out of one of our global offices in Bangalore, India.
The Director, Model Governance role resides within the Data and Model Governance team and will be responsible for the strategy, execution and end-to-end management of model governance.
The Director, Model Governance will lead the team to build and implement an Enterprise-wide model governance framework across TR and, will be responsible for the development and deployment of policies and standards for all models across TR functions.
About the Role:
The Director, Model Governance is responsible for leading the team in developing a robust data-driven governance program:
Build and implement an enterprise Model Governance framework
Develop model policies and standards to ensure consistent, standardized practices are used when developing models across all TR.
Work collaboratively across business functions to build and implement sound model governance processes that align and integrate with model policies and standards
Work closely with the Model Stewardship Network (Model Stewards and Model Steward Partners) to help ensure the appropriate processes and training initiatives are in place
As appropriate, advise relevant stakeholders on model governance-related matters
Effect changes in policymaking that will ultimately benefit our employees and customers
Lead the team in model issue management, model risk analysis and building governance controls, guardrails, policies, and standards for all data users across Thomson Reuters
Work closely with Legal, Risk and ISRM
Responsible for the management and maintenance of the centralized, enterprise-wide model repository
Manage the model validation review and approval process for all models developed across TR functions prior to model use. Verify the required model monitoring plans are in place and on-going model reviews are scheduled
Ensure adherence of each step of the model lifecycle management process has been completed/met and the required partner approvals obtained during the development and deployment of each model prior to use
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Director, Model Governance if you meet all or most of these criteria:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
8+ years of experience in Data, Analysis, AI/ML and/or Technology
A deep understanding of public policy, government relations and business judgment
Significant experience in the use and application of model governance
Strong experience in writing and guiding the development of technical policies and standards
Ability to identify key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals, synthesizing policy documents for internal and external use
Knowledge of global data and model principles, risk management and controls
Proven team leadership and coaching experience with the ability to influence others
Strong influencing and networking skills
Thorough understanding of model and systems infrastructures
Critical thinking skills to process models from multiple sources, forecast scenarios and encourage automation
