Job Description : An exciting business who specialises in boating who are looking for a well-rounded book keeper/Accountant for a full time opportunity within the finance area of the business. You will play a critical role in the business.ResponsibilitiesTaking calls from clients/suppliers and answering questionsWrite and distribute email, correspondenceManaging company correspondenceProcessing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing copiesPreparing financial statements showing syndicate income and expenditurePaying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balancesCompleting VAT returnsVerifying the accuracy of syndicate accountsIssue syndicate owner invoices and allocate income and expenditureRaising purchase order for goodsFollowing procedure for any overdue invoices/Chase client debtsProcess the payment of wages after receipt from accountants.Managing employee expense claimsHelping the Accountant with administrative duties and preparing yearly accountsPerforming data entry roles, including updating records and databases for personnel, financial and legal informationBank reconciliationsGeneral book keeping tasksReconcile invoices receivedAssisting with syndicate AGMs and minute taking.Attend Boat share showsSkillsApart from a natural flair with numbers, other skills that will help you become a good accounts clerk include:To be honest, discreet and trustworthyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-taskExperience of working within a accounts / finance teamPrevious book keeping experienceGood computer skills (especially with databases and financial software)Structured and organised person with a can do attitudeAn ability to work quickly and accuratelyGood concentrationAn eye for detailAn ability to work to deadlinesJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £22.00-£28.00 per yearSchedule:8 hour shiftCOVID-19 considerations:All customers required to wear mask, although our contact with the public is limited.Application question(s):Are you prepared to work alternate weekends?Education:GCSE or equivalent (preferred)Experience:Accounting: 2 years (required)Reference ID: Accounts
