PROFILE
The candidate will assist in the preparation of the annual report, half-year results and the financial statements of Ocado Retail under IFRS. Monthly responsibilities will include the balance sheet reconciliation and review process and fixed asset accounting. The candidate will be required to support the Finance Department in ad hoc projects, process improvements, management reporting and other finance-related projects driven by the growth of the business.

THE ROLE
Deputise & support the Financial Reporting Manager
Lead in the preparation for the year-end audit and the interim review including liaison with the company’s auditors
Provide M&S with information for their month-end, half-year and year-end including analytical review and liaising with the finance team
Prepare month-end balance sheet, cash flow and working capital
Managing the Balance Sheet reconciliation review process
Assist with the Balance Sheet review including the risk and opportunities analysis
Preparation of the financial statements for the Company and ensure filing deadlines are met
Support the preparation of quarterly reporting information, communicated externally
Responsible for IFRS16 accounting
Responsible for fixed asset accounting
Assist with the balance sheet budget and forecast process and reporting
Assist with managing the internal audit process
Assist with the risk review management process
Support ad hoc, value-adding initiatives such as implementing better financial controls and process improvements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
Qualified accountant,
Strong academics; minimum 2,1 at degree level; High grades at A level
Good technical knowledge of preparing/auditing financial statements under IFRS
Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail that is deadline-focused and goal-oriented.
Methodical, organised and responds quickly to change, whilst demonstrating a proactive approach.
Effectively communicate technical matters with both senior management and non-technical audiences.
Forges effective relationships across teams and external advisors easily.
Enthusiastic to learn
Keen interest in technical accounting advancements and its implications in practice
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Desirable
Some experience of ERP systems (e.g. Oracle Financials)
Experience using Hyperion (Planning and Budgeting)
