Job Description : Finance Controller – Arundel, West SussexWe are currently recruiting for an experienced knowledgeable Finance Controller who has at least three years post qualification experience and has an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification to work for a commercial business based in Arundel West Sussex. The role has a fast track option for the post holder to be promoted to Financial Director of the business within 12 months.The business has a T/O of £7M annually and they are a manufacturing business. They have plans to grow and develop the business, so hiring an FC to assist with the next phase of the companies growth and development.The role has the scope to develop further into a Financial Director.Summary of the RoleThe Financial Controller has day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the business’s finances including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasts and all financial management.Working within a small finance team and extended staff from across all departments of the business the Financial Controller will be expected to ensure accurate accounting and reporting for both internal and external purposes.This role is a hands-on, you will own the finance department and know all areas of accounting within the business.You will work closely with the Managing Director and CEO to support the development and the growth of the business. You will be the right hand person for the MD and have day to day liaison, direct input and will be part of the SMT.Role responsibilities include: Document, implement and operate financial controls as necessary and ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.Monitor and review the effectiveness of financial controls to ensure that they remain appropriate at all times.Working with budget holders to prepare the annual budget for approval from directors.Control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the company strategy including preparing budgets in line with that strategy and monthly management accounts to show the performance against the budgets.Monitor all payments to employees and ensure that all relevant regulations are being complied with.Ensure the company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.Providing year end information for submission to our accountants in a timely manner. (Responsibility for filing approved accounts is with our accountants).Corporation Tax computations to be prepared for consideration by our accountants. (Responsibility for filing completed returns is with our accountants).Ensure compliance with all relevant financial legislation and ensure that’s all accounting information is accurate and processed correctly and records are stored appropriately.Oversee and manage the companies payroll system and all associated tax and statutory returns.Administer the businesses pension schemes, complete end of year pension returns and liaise with auditors to ensure accurate and timely preparation of the pension fund accounts.Take ultimate responsibility for the company cash management policies including preparing monthly cash flow statements.Maintain strong working relationships with bankers and external accountants.Contribute fully to the development of the company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate.This role requires all of the following attributes: To be qualified to ACA, ACCA or CIMAExperience of a senior level accounting position and ready for a Finance Controller role or a current FC wanting to progress to an FD.All monthly management financial reporting experienceHigh level Excel experience to include Pivot Tables and MacrosHigh level numeracy skillsTime served finance manager or Finance Controller or Finance Director experienceStaff managerial experience preferredExcellent people person and team player.Salary and Benefits: The salary for this full-time role is £60,000 to £70,000 negotiable plus an annual bonus of £6,500 based on KPI’sBenefits to include 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, option to buy additional daysCompany pension schemeBupa Medical Health InsuranceJob Types: Full-time, PermanentJob Type: Full-timeSalary: £60,000.00-£70,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:Bonus schemeSchedule:Monday to FridayExperience:ACCA, ACA, CIMA: 2 years (required)Financial management: 1 year (required)FC or FD: 1 year (preferred)Work authorisation:United Kingdom (required)
