Responsible for performing moderate and complex flowcytometry assay specimen analysis. Leads troubleshooting and process improvements.
Essential Functions
Performs routine, moderate, and complex analysis for flowcytometry assay specimens in accordance with assay specific gating guides (GG) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Evaluates analyzed specimen results acceptability/rejection/cancellation. Document all corrective actions taken.Identifies and leads efforts related to troubleshooting and process improvements to increase data quality, lower costs, or reduce turnaround times.Performs and completes the daily flow specimen analysis as per the assay distribution and regional assay gating requirements.Performs primary review and secondary review of analyzed specimen results to ensure accuracy of primary analysis result. Troubleshoots and triages escalated data queries.Coordinates and responds to queries, communicatons, and workflows with global labs to ensure consistency and timely resolution.Supports management in coordinating daily assignment of workload and assist in daily workload completion and review process.Acts as primary resource to provide technical leadership for all flowcytometry associate scientists and provide assistance in the technical area to resolve analysis issues.Provides assistance in maintaining gating assessment and proficiency testing approval within timeline and ensure its approval from global team.Oversees archiving and retention procedures.Maintains quality control of all analyzed data to ensure accurate and timely lab reporting.Resolves and documents corrective and preventative actions taken using good documentation practices.Leads routine quality investigations. Assigns and completes CAPAs and effectiveness verifications.Assists management in implementing new assays in central gating.Oversees the daily pending workload review, assists in any outstanding work prior to the completion of analysis for the day.Acts in an oversight capacity to ensure effective team delivery, as required.Participates in and supports internal and external audits and inspections, as required.Participates in continuing education through self-study, attending in-services and off-site lectures and meetings and prepare programs to share with coworkers.Supports safety, quality, and 6S requirements and initiatives.Complies with company’s procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Req OrOther equivalent combination of education and experience4 years of experience in Medical or Flow Cytometry technology.Sound knowledge of practical application of flow cytometry clinical laboratory sciences and principles.Experience across a broad range of flow cytometry assays, including the determination of accepting batch acceptability and adapting to patient specific variation.Strong technical knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and terminology used in the area of responsibility.Detailed knowledge of applicable governing regulatory requirements.Proficiency in scientific and data analysis with a keen attention to detail.Ability to troubleshoot laboratory data and resolve issues.Good computer skills along with Microsoft Office.Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.Effective communication and presentation skills.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.Demonstrated “everyday leadership” skills.Ability to assimilate and interpret complex technical information.Ability to bring projects and deliverables to completion under timeline expectations.Applicable certifications and licenses as required by local regulations.
