Job Description : Luminate Education Group consists of; Harrogate College (HC), Keighley College (KC), Leeds City College (LCC), Leeds Conservatoire (LC) and White Rose Academies Trust (WRAT). WHAT WE DO
This is an exciting opportunity to join the WP and Outreach team as FutureHY Outreach Assistant (based at Harrogate College). The WP and Outreach Team work with young people and adults considering their education options and supporting individuals into higher education. The University Centre provides students with the opportunity to study for a broad range of higher education qualifications from foundation degrees, BSc (Hons) / BA (Hons) top-up degree programmes, Higher National Apprenticeships and Degree Apprenticeships.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead the development and delivery of outreach activity to targeted students which supports the aims of the FutureHY Uni Connect programme, including activities at schools and colleges in identified areas.
Working with FutureHY colleagues across York and North Yorkshire to develop and deliver effective and engaging activities that will encourage and support the progression of under-represented groups to higher education.
Maintain and develop a bank of age appropriate innovative and challenging activities, presentations and resources which can be used by all FutureHY partners.
Further key elements of the role all be focussed on supporting the development and implementation of collaborative activities.
YOUR PROFILE
Awareness of the current issues facing students in higher education and issues which may prevent young people aspiring to HE, and will have an understanding of the UK higher education system.
Experience of delivering high quality presentations, and working with young people, is essential.
