Job Description : Young Giants is an alternative education provider, supporting children who are out of school. We provide one-to-one academic tuition and mentoring in a child’s home or suitable locations within the community (such as youth centres). We are a small team, run by qualified teachers and offer personal support to all of our tutors.Building on our growing reputation as a quality provider, we are seeking new tutors to join our strong team of committed educators. Most of our students are based in South West London so we are looking for practitioners who are able to travel to South West London.We are currently seeking experienced Teachers/Tutors to support students with a range of SEND in GCSE English, Math and Science. Tuition is in-person, one-to-one in a student’s home or venue within the community. The candidate must have a sound understanding of delivering the English/Math/Science GCSE curriculum and delivering education support to young people with SEND including SLD, ASD, ADHD and SEMH.Many of our tutors work full-time hours with us and we are able to provide block bookings of 2 to 5 hours per day.There is a small resources budget for students and tutors receive a £6 travel allowance per student visit.We are seeking tutors who are committed to tuition and prioritise those applicants who are able to commit to their student for several months/academic terms/whole academic year. Person Specification:Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum 2 years teaching students with SEND in schools or in private settings.Enhanced DBS on the DBS Update system or willingness to have one carried out at a cost of £51Commitment to the academic development of students and a willingness to commit to termly timetables without missing lessons due to outside commitmentsSecure understanding of child safeguardingJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePart-time hours: 5-25 per weekSalary: £30.00-£40.00 per hourBenefits:Flexible scheduleSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (preferred)Experience:teaching: 3 years (preferred)tutoring: 3 years (preferred)Application deadline: 04/03/2022Expected start date: 07/03/2022
