Job Description
Our Early Careers program for experience designers will provide you with structured training, mentoring and coaching, as well as tailored, on-the-job learning across digital product design and/or service design encapsulating over $7,500 worth of training per year. At Publicis Sapient, meaningful work happens at all levels, without ever being ‘too junior’ to do something. You will have the opportunity to accelerate your career moving from Junior to Senior Associate within 3 years and be supported at every step.
Whether you specialize in UX, UI or strategic design, you’ll work directly and be hands on with clients and Publicis Sapient product managers, engineers and management consultants to shape and incubate new digital products and services. We have built our success designing experiences for renowned clients such as Aesop, Bang & Olufsen, Toyota, ACMI, Rebel, and Woolworths.
Your Impact
As part of your first year as a graduate with us, you will complete a 3 month structured onboarding plan, training (over 200 courses on offer, based on your interest and development plan), social activities (we love trivia nights and online drawing classes), shadowing on projects (be a fly on the wall while we pitch for a million-dollar project, present designs for a new app, or deliver an innovation strategy). The kind of work in your first year can include:
Assisting Experience leads in putting together resources for a client workshop, for example, on the ‘Future of Personalisation’ or the ‘AI Innovation Workshop’
Supporting customer research and testing with farmers across Australia to better understand how technology can improve life on farm, taking notes and synthesising interviews
Working on the largest hardware retail ecommerce site in Australia, helping the team define customer journeys, and interaction design across responsive experiences
Work with our international teams, learning about how they have approached research and strategy for an electric vehicle product launch
Collaborating with one our visual designers to help develop a digital brand and Design System for one of Australia’s largest supermarkets

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communication design, interaction design, industrial design, strategic design or related area; Alternatively (or additionally!) immersive vocational course graduate from General Assembly, Academy Xi or equivalent is ideal (graduating to start in March 2023).
Strong grasp of a broad range of design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Invision, Adobe)
Foundational knowledge of creative design principles for web and/or mobile platforms
A design portfolio demonstrating design principles for digital platforms such as web/mobile, demonstration of relevant work experience, class or personal projects
Prior industry internship in product or service design is ideal
Ability to adapt and flex in a multidisciplinary creative environment
Solid analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
