The Organisation
This leading insurance organisation specialises in community access to an innovative health solution. They work directly with government health initiatives, pharmaceutical companies, pharmacists, research bodies and patient groups to create better outcomes for patients and all Australians.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to support the achievement of the newly formed Operational Imperative Support Team through the documenting and support of application and integration services to Guidewire (the core insurance processing system). Although line reporting to the Development Practice Manager, whilst assigned to Operational Imperative Support team, direction will be derived by the teams objectives as driven by the Incident Manager.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
Incident Management Break fix services, for example:
Being the first in the team to act and investigate incidents and provide break fixes with the SLA timelines
Checking health of applications as part of the daily routine, including but not limited to builds and deploys, event message queues, error logs, batch runs, integration failures, etc.
Analyses root cause and provides proper fix
Problem Management Underlying root cause problem resolution, for example:
Providing input to areas that require detailed problem analysis
Troubleshooting problems within the production, OI fresh and FIT environment, on an as-needs basis
On-call support after business hours based on a rotating shift roster
3rd Parties Patch Upgrades and Updates
Assists with the impact assessment of 3rd parties patch upgrades and updates
Works with L3 engineers, project teams and other stakeholders to develop changes required to support 3rd parties patch upgrades and updates
We’re looking for someone who has:
Practical programming experience, either JAVA or .NET
Familiarity with coding best practices and coding standards
Ability to adapt / work under an Agile development environment
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Change Control
Preferable:
Insurance domain knowledge
Guidewire PC/CC/BC/AB configuration, integration and development experience
SmartCOMM, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Guidewire Live and Front-end Portal
Implementation and use of web-enablement technologies including Spring, AngularJS , Web Services, SOAP, XML, JavaScript, HTML , JSON and Messaging
Azure – Function App, Application Insights, Git, Service Bus, Docker
APIs and integrations
SQL, SQL Server Admin or Data Warehouse
Application and Database performance/security profiling and/or tuning
Open Source Technologies such as Eclipse, Hibernate, Tomcat
CI/CD, Azure DevOps , Azure Pipeline
Ant, Selenium, Jenkins, AppDynamics, NeoLoad, Jira, Confluence
