Job Description : 22.5 Hours per weekAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy and friendly Cardiothoracic Outpatient Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our supportive team in a part-time role.You will provide assistance to medical and nursing staff to aid the efficient running of the service.The role involves chaperoning medical staff during consultations, collecting and preparing case notes, undertaking health measurements (weight, height, BP, ECG), collecting specimens, performing and assisting with venepuncture, monitoring stock levels, preparation and maintenance of clinic rooms and areas.Individuals will become proficient with IT systems such as CAMIS, ECAMIS and WEBICE.The post holder will require an excellent standard of communication, professionalism and provide a high level of customer service.The post will involve working in clinic at The James Cook University Hospital with potential to also work at satellite clinics based at The One Life Centre and Redcar Primary Care Hospital.This vacancy will close when we receive sufficient completed applications.South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals.The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit and an emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad. In 2012 the Middlesbrough hospital completed a £35 million redevelopment of its cancer services and is now proud to provide some of the best facilities in Europe. The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers Novice leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust.Job Type: Part-time
