As our Investment Accountant, you will deliver a highly professional and robust framework of control against all financial aspects for investment programmes/projects across the BFS Group to ensure that cash is utilised effectively and efficiently in order to deliver maximum returns.
Your key duties as our Investment Accountant will include:
Undertaking the appraisal of investment cases requiring Executive/Board approval
Reviewing and validating project financials, supporting the business cases to provide a high level of financial robustness and rigor
Stress testing the business case assumptions from a commercial and strategic perspective
Supporting projects with financial analysis, accounting expertise, commercial and business insight and analysis of strategic fit
Assessing and considering the interdependencies with other projects, as well as the impacts on the wider business
Providing a summary of residual risk and outstanding issues relating to investment projects
Following internal project management guidelines to ensure clear auditability of key decision points and quality gates
Retaining detailed supporting documentation to provide a clear audit trail and evidence of the review process
Monitoring approved projects – tracking progress and briefing Project Sponsors, SteerCo’s and Exco
Acting as finance business partner to the Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Developing KPI analysis to measure and support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) functional activities
Supporting the annual 3-year Budget and Operating plan process

What we are looking for in our ideal Investment Accountant:
A recognised accountancy qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
At least 3 years’ PQE
The ability to lead and influence a variety of stakeholders
The ability to develop relationships across the business, with all functions and business and all levels of staff
Strong report writing and presentation preparation skills
The ability to take complex issues and simply and effectively communicate them especially to non-finance teams
Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
