ITS Vice Presidency Context:
Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.
Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.
ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.
Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.
The ITS Enterprise Services department, ITSEN, provides a wide range of technical services, ranging from data centers and system administration, to database, middleware, cloud and Identity management. The department consists of two units (ITSIA and ITSSM) which are in Washington, DC; Chennai, India; and in Sofia, Bulgaria.
ITSIA (ITS Identity and Application Service) unit, provides enterprise system integration support, for both on-prem and cloud (Azure/AWS), for ITS and its clients.
This position is to manage critical services for middleware technologies, that includes, but not limited to -Enterprise Service Bus (MuleSoft ESB), API Gateway (Apigee, Azure and AWS) and Business Process Mgmt (Pega).
Responsibilities:
For the 3 technologies – i) MuleSoft ESB, ii) API Gateway (Apigee, Azure and AWS), and iii) Pega:
As an independent contributor, you will be responsible to provide infrastructure and operations support for both on-premises and cloud services.
Automate using IaC, every activity of the infrastructure management– create, check, modify and delete, and upgrade versions, as recommended by the vendor.
Performs coding and/or configuration to meet documentation needs, utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
Effectively communicate change requests with colleagues in Chennai, Sofia and HQ, and other stakeholders.
Work with stakeholders to define integration services and solutions for integration requirements for various systems and cloud hosted solutions.
Collaborates with staff and contractors in their area of expertise.
Tests own work, leads peer reviews, and contributes to the development of test plans and participates in post-implementation reviews.
Closely work with vendors supporting their elements of the infrastructure with required patching and other on-going maintenance.
Participates in the feasibility analysis for new systems/applications.
Interfaces with business analysts, project managers, and/or clients to clarify requirements.
Provides daily operational support for production systems including providing on-call support.
Develops technical specifications.
Selection CriteriaBE or B.Tech with minimum 6-7 years of experience.
Hands-on development experience in the integration platforms – MuleSoft ESB (version 3, 4 and RTF), Apigee – and as administrator to manage, monitor and troubleshoot in a small to medium sized enterprise. Experience in PEGA is a plus.
Hands-on development experience in platforms automation through pipelines for on-going operational monitoring / alerting.
Experience in integrating platforms with ERP systems.
Strong development experience with Java, Python, JavaScript.
Demonstrated experience in containers and its orchestration.
Strong knowledge in IaC, SRE and DevOps principles, Microservices and API-led connectivity.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
