Job Description
Capacity Engineering Services (CES) delivers standardized capacity management (CAPM) tooling, services, and capabilities. The TrueSight Capacity Optimization (TSCO) data warehouse and web portals enables capacity planners to analyze, forecast, and optimize IT capacity and performance across all IT resources and environments. Self-service capabilities available to AIT owners and capacity stakeholders for understanding peak resource usage, risks, and optimization opportunities.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with enterprise architects and IT project managers to enhance existing business applications and facilitate solutions to meet business requirements
Operational admin support of Capacity Engineering infrastructure, products and services
Perform core capacity management activities such as capacity reviews, trend analysis and performance investigations
Execute application management support requirements and activities
develop new capacity management capabilities and solutions
Act as backup for change control management process activities
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Requirements
Education: B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)
Certifications, If Any: NA
Experience Range: 8 to 13 years
Foundational skills:
10+ years of total IT experience
Knowledge of internals of Linux, Solaris, AIX and Windows operating system, and understanding of TCP/IP network stack
Capacity and performance monitoring tools
Shell scripting, Perl, Python
Strong skills in MS Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Desired skills:
Base SAS programming
Exposure to internal application management toolsets (GIS Portal, RISE, pcat etc)
Experience in capacity planning and performance in a large organization
Experience of BoA IT management processes (Change Management, Application Management)
R, Java or other programming skills
Analytical modeling of system and volume metrics for use with forecast capacity
Exposure to BMC Truesight Capacity Optimization
