Job Description : About the Organisation
We are cross-trained experts who specialize in shortening the neuroproduct development process and design time to market. Each stage of our process is led by an experienced, multifaceted team member in fields such as electronics/mechanical design, software programming, neuroscience and materials engineering, electrode design and neuro-stimulation/neuromonitoring. We act as a hands-on product technology and development arm.
About the Role
Join the Novabioelectrics team and become part of an innovative and driven team, passionate about building and developing neuroscience, bioelectrics, and biochip medical devices (both wearable and implantable). We work with early-stage companies, neuroscientists, entrepreneurs, clinicians and R&D department customers. We are looking to build our R&D team in Cardiff with people who are driven, looking for a challenge, and can work cross disciplinary. You will have the opportunity to develop electrochemical sensors, as well as new and customized versions of existing and next generation Bioelectronics Technologies (incl. wearables and implantable, electronics hardware, bio compatibility, materials, electrode design, software / app interfaces, and safety testing). You will also have the chance to lead project efforts and R&D processes. More so, you will lead and apply for grant funding and collaborations.
Essential Skills
PhD or post docs with a strong background in at least one of the following areas: biomedical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials and / or neurophysiology with major in Neurosciences
Experience partnering with scientists, researchers, and engineers to build complex multidisciplinary products
Technically proficient and up to date with latest neuroscience techniques / technologies and clinical needs
Exposure to “big data,” especially biological and clinical data
Working knowledge of compiled languages, ideally C/C++
Innovative
Quick to adapt to new environments
Able to take initiative on the workload
Work well independently with little guidance
Be a team player
Communicative
Excellent writing communication skills; grant writing experience is essential
Problem solving skills

Any Special Conditions
Experience with writing successful grant funding applications with UK and EU funding bodies, academic institutions and industry in the life sciences sector. Medical device regulatory process experience (FDA / CE) is preferable.
Experience in working cross-border collaborations within the academic, clinical, and industry consortia
