This is a remote role with an option for you to help build an office as a nest in Melbourne. There is an office in Sydney that is a hybrid model.
There are a fair amount of musicians in the Sydney office so there is beer and pizzas with jam sessions, additionally, there are people who are active in the meetup community.

Role
As a lead you could be a senior in your current role and you are ready to take the next step up. This is not a super, super senior role but for someone who wishes to grow into more of an engineering manager role or an architect in the future.

Coming from a backend background you will be able to understand the frontend work. As you work on complex architecture and build maintainable code. You will collaborate with other software engineers and stakeholders in your team to build and maintain APIs in our microservices architecture (Kubernetes). Also deploying microservices using infrastructure as code technologies, CI/CD (Bamboo), Terraform

You will work on distributed systems at scale with high traffic workloads in Node with a React frontend. Part of the legacy application is in PHP.
The roadmap ahead is exciting with:
AR integrations
Research and development
Optimisation to scale

Here’s what they’re looking for:
Excellent understanding of fundamental engineering concepts – SOLID principles, clean code, design patterns, testing
Expertise in Node.js (with either JavaScript or Typescript)
Cloud experience (AWS, GCP or Azure)
Experience with RDBMS databases (MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, etc) and NoSQL solutions (Redis, DynamoDb, etc.)
Good understanding of APIs having worked with backend developers (backend APIs are built with Typescript, Node.js, MySQL, DynamoDB and run in AWS
Tenacity to make products better, faster, and more intuitive
