Job Title : Lead – Software Engineering – Production Support
The Purpose of This Role
This position is a part of FBT production support team within the EI Business unit. The candidate will be engaged in ensuring the operational stability of the FBT Application. This candidate will participate in non-prod, Prod, system monitoring, installing fixes, incident troubleshooting and resolution, problem management, and ensuring operational standards adherence

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for normal day to day functions (Job monitoring, abend fix, analyzing Incident tickets, Stakeholder coordination for issues) along with being able to make insightful decisions by analyzing opportunities, risks, and impact of all actions on the business. This role also requires the ability to connect intentionally with numerous business partners such as application owners, developers, testers, DBAs to understand and ensure smooth operations of the services required/requested by the end users. The candidate chosen for this role should be able to demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a commitment to achieving objectives while helping to maintain a culture of teamwork across all participants.
The Skills that are Key to this role
Technical / Behavioral
Operating Systems: Linux/ Windows
App/Web server: IIS, Tomcat, Apache
Deployment Automation Tools: uDeploy or any other automations on Deployment.
Exposure / experience in cloud tech, docker / Kubernetes, PCF, AWS
CI/CD tools such as Shell scripting, Maven, Git/Stash, Jenkins, Artifactory, uDeploy etc.
Networking: Basic Networking (ping, traceroute, dns, log analysis, routing technologies)
Scripting: Shell Scripting, Power Shell and Python
Monitoring/Testing Tools: Splunk, , DataDog, Truesight, Gomez
Focus on improvements in Automations, Logging and Monitoring.
Metrics and reporting around various areas including, but not limited to, application performance & monitoring, incident and problem management, etc.
Site Scope, Splunk, Dynatrace and any other Automations for monitoring.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be capable of learning complex processes quickly and have ability to learn through independent research.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
The applicant should demonstrate effective communication skills; both written and verbal.
Ability to learn and work quickly to meet business deadline.
The Skills that are Good To Have for this role
You must be experienced in maintaining systems in the distributed environment.
You must have proven analytical and problem solving skills.
You will have to manage high skilled professionals of production support application.
You must possess background on udeploy, Websphere, Tomcat & AWS Cloud
Must be capable of learning complex processes quickly, and have the ability to learn through independent research.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support to multiple disciplines including Distributed Systems. These duties include the proactive and reactive identification, isolation and escalation of incidents in the environment resolving them or coordinate the resolutions / workarounds.
Incident and Change Management
Assist with Metrics and Reporting process
End-to-End support for non-production Brokerage Trading Infrastructure.
Solves problems coordinating between the team and interfacing groups / individuals.
Escalate issues to appropriate groups and track problem resolution.
Interface with clients to provide event status. This is done via phone or emails or through the firm’s “Team Collaboration” tools (like Skype for Business) as adhoc or planned updates.
Participate in shift coverage (earliest 6:30 AM IST) & India holidays.
Participate in and understand the goals and direction of the organization and assist the group in meeting these goals.

These services include data centers, storage & servers, network, market data, end user devices, databases, big data, middleware, monitoring, release management, performance engineering, application support, incident and service management. The Expertise We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic/practical experience.
3-5 years of IT industry experience
Application support and maintenance experience is must.
Good understanding of the financial services industry.
Location : Chennai
Shift timings: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm /11:00 am – 8:00pm / 01:30 pm – 10:00 pm.
