Job Description : Role Overview:
This is a standalone finance role, reporting into the Group Commercial Finance Director. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the month-end reporting process, including operational compliance with timetables, and supporting the delivery and presentation of all financial information in a concise and simple format for review by the Directors and Group Finance function.

The successful candidate for this role will have a great deal of responsibility and accountability in supporting the Directors with the operational management of the finance function.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the payment of staff wages in conjunction with Group Payroll, ensuring timely submission & payments to HMRC
Ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to (with a key focus on development)
Produce accurate and timely information for monthly, quarterly, and annual internal management and group reporting requirements
Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and audits
Liaise with clients, external advisors and others in a professional manner ensuring high levels of customer service at all times
Work with the Directors to implement systems and procedures to enhance the reporting for both management and statutory purposes (i.e., Microsoft Navision (NAV))
To effectively escalate and resolve issues or potential causes for concern
Day-to-day management and development of the Finance function to deliver month-end, ensuring deadlines are achieved and required reports are submitted to Group on time
Full finance administration duties (in the short term), including but not limited to; sales & purchase invoice processing, employee expense claims & general office administrative tasks
Continuously review customer debt and cash allocation and escalate as necessary
Balance reconciliations / schedules
Journal entries and reconciliation of ledgers
Quarterly VAT return submissions
Contributing to cash flow management, budgets and annual audit
Assist project teams with the management of project costs, including budgetary preparation, work-in-progress reporting and variance analysis
Providing expertise and decision support to all areas of the business in the areas of finance & accounting

Contribute to the development and implementation of Company strategies, policies and practices

Profile description:

Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CA or CIMA preferable), or part-qualification.
Experience performing Management and Financial accounting tasks in a project driven business (preferable)
Working knowledge of current accounting standards, particularly accrued / deferred income (IFRS preferable)
Capability to understand and improve processes / reduce risk
Experience with management of month-end reporting process
Highly proficient in Microsoft office software with a particular focus on Excel
Experience using Microsoft Navision (desirable but not essential)
