Job Description : Job Summary :
The Communications Manager is responsible for advancing TDIndustries’ brand by providing leadership, strategic planning and performance in internal communications, external communications and community engagement. Provides communications counsel to senior management, helping to enhance TD’s success by applying proactive communications strategy, including crisis/critical communications. Working within and supporting marketing communications, the manager provides the public relations plan for the organization. The manager must embrace collaboration with company leaders, execute high-value communication priorities, plans and strategies and be poised to operate strategically and tactically. This position reports to the VP of Marketing Communications.

Essential Duties:
Leads internal and external corporate communications to implement strategies and tactics that support TD’s businesses. Guide and support executive communications (video, email, Intranet, media).
Develops communications strategies that support TD’s priorities and provide value to employee-owners (Partners).
Oversees TD’s internal and external communications activities, including diversity, safety and health, organizational development and human resources.
Responsible for internal communication channels including Intranet, employee app, texting platform, etc.
Provides strategy and implementation for internal social media channels, corporate communications, town hall meetings and all-employee events.
Leads and manages Communications team, including Communications Specialist and Public Relations Specialist.
Offers strategic leadership, directs, coaches and develops staff to achieve performance goals and company objectives. Conducts timely, complete and meaningful performance management conversations.
Creates programs that positively position the organization with the public and align closely with marketing campaigns to reinforce the organization’s image.
Oversees communication efforts and tactical implementation of campaigns and corporate events.
Leads the development of strategic PR plans, identifies proactive opportunities to earn favorable press coverage, writes press releases and crafts timely and relevant pitches in coordination with internal business partners. Develops and maintains relationships with members of the media.
Maintains an awareness of company risks and threats. Proactive in crisis management and preemptive planning. Serves as a trusted adviser to internal business partners who need to be aware of upcoming stories, including preparing and facilitating executive interviews.
Stays abreast of industry trends, exhibiting subject matter expertise on TD offerings.
Participates in the strategic planning process. Develops a yearly communications plan and associated budget based on objectives established in the organization’s strategic business plan.
Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules, maintains standards, monitors status of work in progress, inspects completed work assignments, answers questions, gives advice and direction as needed.
Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field is preferred.
7+ years of communications experience, preferably in a corporate or agency setting, leading teams.
