Job Description
What you get to do in this role:
This position is with the Service Now Big Data team responsible for:
Collecting, storing and providing real-time access to large amounts of data
Provide real-time analytic tools and reporting capabilities for various purposes including:
Monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting
Anomaly detection
Capacity planning
Data analytics and trending
Observability
The big data team is a central player in the Service now organization. Our mission is to:
Deliver state of the art Monitoring & Analytics solution by employing new tools, systems and methodologies that improve our Operations, Support and Product Development allowing them to have increased customer satisfaction
What you get to do in this role:
Responsible for leading a team of Software Development Engineers in planning, designing and developing web applications leveraging big data
Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments, including day-to-day activities within an Agile/Scrum environment
Hire, guide, and mentor staff career development,
Conduct performance reviews
Collaborate with QA, DevOps and other dev teams to ensure high-quality software and operational readiness.
Work with product managers and stakeholders on product road map and vision
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Solid experience in Data engineering.
12+ years of overall software development experience with 5+ years in management positions.
Exposure to Data science projects.
Experience managing and delivering multiple high-quality projects concurrently
Experience leading a team of experienced highly skilled engineers.
Experience with scrum development methodology
Experience with Java, JavaScript and SQL
Experience building highly scalable solutions for real-time analysis and reporting for multi-terabyte data sets using technologies like: Impala, Hive, HBase, Spark and Hadoop environment in general.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-driven and flexible
Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
