You will be on top of news the moment it breaks and also work closely with Reach plc’s fast-paced central content unit, commissioning and receiving ideas and stories from them. It’s a hugely exciting role at the heart of what is by far the biggest news website in Wales. You will promote excellence across our website and social media platforms and have oversight of our overall performance against key overall metrics. You will be an experienced journalist with a detailed understanding of how and where different audiences can be found, and how this translates to content decisions. This is a senior job which will give you the chance to be a leader in the newsroom, be innovative in storytelling and social media posts and encourage the same behaviour and skills in others. You will get to work on breaking news of major significance to our audiences. We are looking for journalists who are curious to find out what’s going on around them, to answer the questions our readers want answered, who find time to listen to conversations and ask what they can add, and who believe journalism does its best when it is read by as many people as possible. You’ll want to deliver stories which make people come back to our site time and again. We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

We are Reach plc, you might not have heard of us but we have probably met without you even realising it. We are home to the UK and Ireland’s most iconic digital platforms, magazines and newspapers. We help all kinds of people share experiences through our stories because we believe this is what makes us human.
