Job Description : 8.5.10JOB DESCRIPTION Room Leader REPORTS TO Nursery Manager / Officer in charge Position Responsibility To work as part of the team providing high quality care, safety and stimulating play experiences to all individual children and their needs.To implement the daily routine in the base room.To support all other members of the team and work alongside the ManagerKey Areas Demonstrate authority and leadership skills.Lead and implement the Early Years Foundation Stage. Observe, support and extend children’s learning.Manage and promote positive team work with other staff in conjunction with the manager.Liaise with parents/carers promoting partnership and involvementMeet the requirements of EYFS matters, special needs, child protection, health and safety and to ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to by staff.Description of Duties Work with staff to plan a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in conjunction with the ManagerMaintain records of achievement file for allocated key children. Write progress reports on the children, in conjunction with the Manager/EYP guidance.Oversee and support the work of other staff with designated area of authorityWork with parents/carers of special needs children to achieve full integration in the nursery and co-ordinate with the SENCO Officer.Foresee the needs of special needs children and give physical, emotional, intellectual guidance as appropriate.Support all staff and engage in maintaining good staff morale. Attend and organise staff meetings outside working hours with documented reports.Implement action plans.Liaise with and support parents and other family members. Organise keyworkers for children and meetings for parents/carers.Develop a strong partnership with parents/carers of the children within your care.Liaise with the Local Authority and other professionals associated with the Nursery where appropriate.Version number: 1 Page 1 of 48.5.10Maintain flexibility within the working environment. Undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery.Support all students in their training by giving any guidance needed.Ensure that the nursery philosophy and vision is achieved by working alongside the manager.Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times and be responsible for the Health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children.
