Job Description : This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist within the Cumbernauld Integrated Rehabilitation Team. The post holder will work in a full time, permanent position Monday to Friday with flexible working patterns to meet the requirements of the post.

The post is rotational with NHS Lanarkshire acute services, providing a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in both community and acute settings. You must be a car driver with a valid UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
This role will involve working collaboratively with other allied health professionals and health and social care staff within the Cumbernauld Locality – providing community rehabilitation, assessing for major equipment and adaptations, promoting independence and improving service user’s quality of life.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will manage their own caseload, using evidence based practice and client centered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings. Duties may vary depending on the care group / department / assigned area of work or level of experience.
Ideally the post holder will have experience within the specific care group/speciality, evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice and/or research skills and a sound knowledge of multi-disciplinary and inter agency team working practices.

The post holder will be a Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration, be educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level, ideally have post graduate experience within the area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently, some knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the area of practice.
You should have knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the area of practice ensuring that this can be utilised to deliver leadership within area of practice and evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

The post holder will possess excellent team-working skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using their own initiative, have excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills, effective time management skills and a working knowledge of basic information technology.
