Part time Finance Manager / Controller (sole charge) – £45K – £50K for 24 hours work per week (equivalent of £65-75K)
Our Client
A growing architectural firm based in North West London seek a Sole Charge Finance Manager / Controller to join their team. Reporting directly to the owner you will be in control of all financial aspects of the organisation and have a strong input into the future direction of the organisation.
The Role:
Management Accounting
Set budgets with the owner and senior team, monitoring revenue and expenditure and reporting on a monthly basis
Forecast revenues, expenditure and cash flow to enable business decisions to be taken
Manage the P&L for each project in line with client contracts, flagging any variances or issues
Financial accounting
Manage and reconcile cash flow and bank
Prepare VAT returns
Collate information for month-end and year-end returns, liaising with the external Accountant
Client Invoicing
In liaison with project managers and with reference to client contracts and timesheets, invoice clients in accordance with the contracts for time, materials and rechargeable expenses
Ensure that the billing schedule is kept up to date
In liaison with project managers, conduct credit control and produce statements of accounts
Accounts payable
Process all invoices through Sage 50, checking invoices against PO’s
Verify approved employee expenses and ensure that the appropriate receipts are provided
Ensure that all payments are approved fully and correctly
Make payments based on agreed payment schedule
Payroll:
Instruct the outsourced payroll in relation to any starters, leavers, and payroll changes
Check payroll prior to processing
Make payroll payments including salaries, NIC and taxes
Monitor any benefits for P11D and PSA purposes making such returns as needed
Systems
Reflect all transitions completely and accurately in the finance system, Sage 50
About You:
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant, but someone AAT qualified will be considered. You will have experience within a similar industry or of project accounting. You will be used to working in a small organisation.
You will have strong Excel and have worked on a Sage System.
