Job Description : The Privacy Analyst will be engaged in assisting and advising on data protection compliance at Babylon. You will support the Privacy function on all aspects of Data Protection and its related areas. The role will be based in London and report to the Data Protection Manager, within the Data Protection Officer’s function. This is a diverse and varied role which will involve providing support with day to day operations within the Privacy team along with legal research and assessing risks associated with complex data processing activities. The ideal candidate will be a driven and proactive individual who is confident with advising on data protection risks and has previous experience in a data privacy role.
WHAT YOU”LL WORK ON
Responding to data subject rights requests and queries.
Provide timely updates to the team relating to escalated incidents and data subject rights issues.
Conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments and working closely with internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure risk assessments are thorough and accurately capture associated privacy risks.
Conducting Standard Contractual Clause Assessments.
Designing and delivering data protection training for staff tailored to specific areas of the business.
Conducting ad hoc research on global and domestic privacy legislation, tracking changes and developments and communicating important updates to the team.
Becoming familiar with data protection and information security policies, advising when these fall due for review and updating the intranet and other software.
Populating and maintaining risk registers and reporting on incident trends.
Assisting with conducting internal data protection audits, producing gap analysis and audit reports.
Assisting with global data privacy projects where required.
Maintaining the records and files and minuting meetings of the Privacy team.
Updating data maps and records of processing.
Generally assisting with administrative and other tasks on behalf of the team and other tasks as may be defined by the DPO to meet the operational needs of Babylon.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required (work experience in the field of privacy and data protection or tech security compliance).
1-2 years of experience in Privacy, data protection, or information security-related issues.
Strong knowledge of the GDPR. Robust analytical and research skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage, prioritize, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communications skills, in particular, being able to effectively communicate clearly and concisely. Self-directed, proactive, and creative: uses sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done.
Capable of designing and delivering data protection training for different audiences.
Experience in conducting DPIAs and liaising with stakeholders in order to complete DPIAs in a timely manner.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments, sometimes acting as the single point of contact for projects.
The candidate must be highly motivated, intuitive and possess initiative to identify and manage potential process improvements.
