Digital Operations and Technology (DOT) exists to accelerate the transformation of the Bank and drive customer experience and technology outcomes for the digital era and delivers a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + customers. Your Team
The Digital, Operations and Technology (DOT) team is responsible for technology leadership and capability underpinning CommBank’s retail business.
The goal of our crew is to ensure:
Enablement of tech and engineering initiatives to meet critical business and customer outcomes, that have regulatory, risk and timeline bound initiatives.
Support arm in executing critical, complex business and customer initiatives that spans multiple Crew teams, internal, external teams or vendors.
Modernise and enable applications within DOT/RBS through technology driven initiatives.
What We Do?
Strategic alignment of key Engineering initiatives that enable the Bank to deliver on business, technology enablement and transformation that it needs to deliver tomorrows bank today for its customers.
Our key focus is to provide support to multiple crews in delivering respective application backlogs along with the cross-crew initiatives that address risk and drive transformation.
We impart a sense of urgency to critical initiatives and ensure realization of key initiatives with structure framework/discipline.
You will be part of team under Always Available portfolio and work closely with cross domain crews and squads internally in DOT/RBS, externally with different business units and vendors.
Your Responsibilities
Manage large and/or complex programs of work to achieve the Group’s strategic objectives through targeted and agreed outcomes.
Effectively manage relationships and communications with program stakeholders, including GMs/EMs across different domains, Senior service executives, multiple Crew leads, Domain Tech leads, Engineering Managers, product owners and other business units.
Structure program teams for success incorporating required skills from CBA teams and sourcing resources from delivery partner organisations despite of working closely with multiple crew leads.
Develop robust and achievable program and project plans to manage the delivery of quality program deliverables.
Balance schedule, cost and quality in reaching decisions relating to project/program delivery.
Manage program and initiatives expenditures and report benefits realisation.
Manage relationships with vendors and third party suppliers including multi-vendor delivery programs.
Continuously build the Group’s project and program delivery capability.
Manage and coach Project Managers in the delivery of their assigned projects. Participate in the overall development of Project Managers.
Evaluate effectiveness of project management tools, processes and methodologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
Prior Program Management experience (7-10 years) experience
Financial Services Industry experience is essential for this role
Experience in leading multiple projects with complexity within financial services environment or a similar multifaceted organisation.
Cross functional management of 2 or more business units
Knowledge and experience in using industry recognised project management and/or solution delivery methodologies. Experience with Agile methodology.
Experience with resiliency project, or cloud based technology with Azure /AWS and Cloud based technologies project is highly desirable.
Prior experience in managing or leading stakeholders from different disciplines to deliver strategic solutions.
Previous leadership/ team management experience
High levels of resilience and personal integrity, with strong interpersonal, collaboration, influencing and negotiating skills
Experience in a broader vendor management / third party management role and strong understanding of risk management principles.
Comfortable to participate in problem solving discussions with Crew leads, technical leads, engineer managers, enterprise architects, infrastructure team and product owner.
Data migration experience & infrastructure is desirable
Knowledge of CBA systems and processes is desirable – but not essential
Qualifications
Desirable:
Digital transformation or mobile app program/project management experience
Formal project management training, certification and/or qualifications
