The role involves working closely with the department engineers and managers as well as, independent connection providers, asset owners and energy suppliers to ensure cost-effective engineering installations, utility connections within set deadlines.The role also involves the administration and progression of all relevant issues involved in this process, including co-ordination/liaison with the customer and other members of the customers design team.As the role and workload broadens it will play a significant part in the role out of SMS offerings in terms of electric vehicle (EV) solutions, CaRe products 9carbon reduction) and grid scale BESS (large battery energy storage schemes).This is an ideal opportunity for someone to step into a department at the heart of SMS’s plans to grow into all the above sectors.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCommunicating / liaising with clients / utilities to identify and resolve problem areas.To work alongside Engineers / Projects Team Leader / Project Co-ordinators to provide a quality service toclients, within necessary deadlines.Data – Entry and maintenance of relevant project databases / spreadsheets.Production and up-keep of work-related spreadsheets / reports.Dealing with incoming data (via post, fax etc.) and processing internal enquiriesProviding day-day administrative duties (filing, referencing, word processing etc).Attending client meetings as and when required and taking minutes of meetings.Any other duties as required by the local management team.Alongside the Engineer, assess quotation costs and recommend the most effective solution.Ensure invoicing is processed in a timely manner.Completing and issuing utility updates to the customer.Attend site meetings / client meetings with engineer when necessary.Excellent Project Management skills (ensuring all information is captured through project databases).Assisting in the production of customer fee proposals.Some basic finance knowledge working on finance applications.EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/MEMBERSHIPSGCSE (or equivalent) in English and MathematicsSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEThe following skills and experience are essential:Communication SkillsSensitivityAble to organize and priorities to meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communicationExcellent problem solvingThe following skills and experience are desirable:Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office PackagesInitiativeFlexibilityPERSONAL ATTRIBUTESManages own workload effectively, but not nervous to request assistance.Demonstrable approach to self-developmentResilient and responsive to change.In ReturnWe support Mental, Physical and Financial wellbeing, and we’re proud of our benefits package to reward great talent which includes :25 personal holiday days per year with additional allocation of 8 public holidays (includes options to buy and sell)After 5 years’ service, you will be rewarded with an additional 5 days annual leave increasing your total to 30 personal days and 8 public holidays.Smart HealthKeeping our employees mentally and physically healthy is one of the things that matters most to us.Employee Assistance Programme (free access to counselling & support) with easy access via My Healthy Advantage app.Access to SmartHealth app – includes a free 24/7 online GP and a range of wellbeing services.Cycle Scheme – lower your carbon footprint whilst staying healthy.Smart SavingsEligibility to join our Share Incentive Plan following 6 months employmentLife Insurance cover where your next of kin will receive 4 times your annual salaryRefer a friend bonus (£500)Corporate season ticket travelLength of service cash incentiveAutomatic enrolment into the Company Stakeholder Pension Scheme following 3 months employment.(matched up to 5%)The future looks brightYour development is important to us – we support and encourage development including internal and external accredited courses, study support and E-Learning and internal promotion.Job Type: Full-time
