Wealth Management Technology

Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.

Job Profile

The candidate will work as a hands-on Python Developer within the GBOT Market Risk group, partnering with Morgan Stanley Quantitative Analysts and Modelers, as well as various other business and technology units. This position is focused on delivering tactical and strategic solutions to support the bank’s Market Risk processes and reporting. The individual will be part of an Agile team working closely with team members in India and New York. The role will require the candidate to perform development and provide system support as required by the project. The individual would have the opportunity to re-architect, re-design and re-engineer platforms to solve data distribution and orchestration problems.

Develop and build enterprise level applications using Python.
Analyze Business User Stories and translate them into meaningful tasks.
Design stable, scalable Application database/datawarehouse.
Analyze user requirements, envision system features and functionality.
Participate in design discussions and contribute to the architecture process.
Identify potential improvements to the current design/processes.
Plan and co-ordinate the data/process migration across databases.
Interface with global team of developers and business users.
Work as part of a banking Agile Squad / Fleet.
Perform proof of concepts in new areas of development.
Participate in all aspects of SDLC (analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation).

QUALIFICATIONS
Primary Skills

3 – 5 years of relevant experience in Python programming language.
Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms and Object-Oriented Design.
Knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem and its core frameworks, including HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Sqoop, Impala, Kafka and Hadoop file formats like Parquet, ORC & AVRO.
Experience with SQL Design, Development with deep understanding of Optimization techniques (e.g., DB2, SQL Server, Teradata).
Experience in developing Spark applications in Python (PySpark).
Experience on Unix Scripting and scheduling tools like Autosys.
Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevOps Integration.
Familiarity with Agile software/tools (e.g., JIRA, etc.).
Understanding of requirements of large enterprise applications (e. g., security, entitlements, etc.).
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, individually or in front of a group.

Good To have Skills

Experience with distributed systems, Message Bus, MQ, REST APIs.
Re-engineering and understanding of legacy systems with strong architecture experience.
Experience with Microservices architecture.
Experience with Azure/AWS/Google Cloud/Other Cloud-based applications.
Prior working experience in financial services industry; specifically, in Risk and Quantitative Modelling.
