Typically:
Individual contributor/developing architect. Main scope of work is to provide solution architecture development, consultancy and assurance to projects, making sure applications are well designed and conform to Shell standards and reference/segment architectures.Works as an autonomous IT Architect, translates the guidelines and standards into practice and solves common technical challenges. Works within given frameworks, company standards and policies under defined directions while receiving occasional guidance on techniques. Often team member or working on smaller architect tasks with some oversight.Makes use of the standard architecture tools (IBM System Architect, PowerDesigner, and/or ProVision).Stakeholders are Project Managers and Business Teams JG2/3.Understands the IT Strategic Roadmap and applies within the context of their organisational assignment. Uses the related reference architectures and roadmaps for Cloud, Mobile, Integration, OpenSource, Big Data, etc.

The role of the IAM Solution Architect is to define new IAM solutions and support the expansion and improvement of existing solutions. In addition, the role requires contribution to the development and maintenance of the IAM Reference architecture and associated technology roadmaps. The architect advises and designs on how to best leverage and take full advantage of new solutions to realize value within the Shell businesses. Most solutions are applicable to entire Shell Enterprise. This is a highly collaborative role.

The IAM Solution Architect needs to collaborate with Suppliers and Shell staff to define IAM solutions and associated architectures to meet Shell business requirements. They need to review and select appropriate industry standards and when necessary define Shell standards, reference architectures and practices to guide the implementation and maximum utilisation of the solutions
Accountabilities:
The IAM Solution Architect is accountable for supporting the IAM Segment Architect in defining the current and target architecture and standards for IAM Solutions that are typically offered as services: Identity Management, Authentication, Federation, Identity Governance and Administration, Access Control, Governance Risk and Compliance. This is done in consultation with Shell Architects supporting other segments, Information Risk Analysts, L&R Compliance Analysts, Industry Standards Bodies and Consultants, as well as software and service suppliers.

The IAM Solution Architect provides guidance to other Reference and Solution architects on standards, deployment patterns and maintains the domain-specific architecture roadmaps.

The IAM Solution Architect works closely with assigned supplier architect(s) and key Shell SME’s and stakeholders to determine potential use of new technologies and solutions for Shell within this area.

The IAM Solution Architect steers the technical aspect of projects, assisting in product selection, consolidating services, consulting on usage of IAM solutions and retiring the legacy.
Experience
Minimum 8 to 12 years in IT industry focused on IAM technologies in medium to large enterprises or government sector
Aware of Architecture and Business Analysis frameworks, principles, policies, standards and governance processes (or related like TOGAF) – preferably TOGAF 9 certified but that training will be provided
Knowledgeable in IAM Standards support Federation and Identity Governance and Administration including SAML, OIDC, OAuth, FIDO, SCIM, RBAC, ABAC and Public Key Cryptography.
Awareness of IAM policy, control and assurance frameworks that are component of NIST, COBIT, SOX and SOC2.
Strong AWS or Azure IAM patterns and Azure AD experience
