Analytics CoE provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development and implementation, financial planning and understanding of impact of risk, reporting and data management. It forms the information basis for strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges.
There are primarily four job families in ACoE: Decision Sciences, Information Management, Business Consulting and MI Reporting. This role applies to the Business Consulting job family within the Analytics function supporting risk management activities.
Credit Risk Strategy Team is one of the key functional areas within Retail Risk Management, which is an extension of the in-country Risk teams and is closely involved in wide range of activities including developing judgment based decision rules/strategy, impact assessment, deep-dive analysis, trend analysis, regulatory monitoring and Performance Benchmarking supporting Policies, Acquisitions, Approve/Decline, Line Management, and Pricing strategies.
This role is specifically in the US Specialty Lending business team. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the team in GAC supporting various Specialty Lending business along with providing oversight, project management & planning, thought leadership & hands-on contribution on business deliverables. Specialty lending products include Partner Loans, Lombard Lending, Marginal lending, Private Banking etc. The role also involves managing the credit risk policies and monitoring of origination and portfolio management strategies. The role involves close co-ordination within Risk and also with Business and Operations team to ensure smooth and hassle-free Risk mitigation. Create robust documentation around existing policies and processes. Coaching and technical support for other junior members within the team on a need basis.
Brief overview of the role
The incumbent will be responsible for leading the team in GAC supporting various Specialty Lending business along with providing oversight, project management & planning, thought leadership & hands-on contribution on business deliverables
Specialty lending products include Partner Loans, Lombard Lending, Marginal lending, Private Banking etc.
The role also involves managing the credit risk policies and monitoring of origination and portfolio management strategies.
The role will entail conducting various analysis like portfolio trend analysis, performance analysis through appropriate controls and monitoring and presenting them to senior stakeholders.
The role involves close co-ordination within Risk and also with Business and Operations team to ensure smooth and hassle-free Risk mitigation.
Providing valuable insights on customer on-boarding & management policies leveraging functional and business knowledge.
Proposing recommendation for optimization of existing policies or identification of process gaps.
Own the communication of various aspects of project delivery to stakeholders
Create robust documentation around existing policies and processes.
Coaching and technical support for other junior members within the team on a need basis
Negotiation with / expectation management of stakeholders on complex open-ended business problems
Develop presentations that are “Business Ready”, to appropriately showcase the work done by the team, with appropriate story-telling and insightful interpretation of trends
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering / mathematics / statistics / economics or equivalent streams.
8+ years of relevant experience in analytics preferably in Credit Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Loss Forecasting, Risk Strategy etc.
Experience in Banking industry, preferably in Risk Management teams under Financial Services and Credit Risk related discipline. Prior Risk management experience, experience in Retail portfolios such as Mortgage, Cards, and Loans will be a plus.
Experience of delivering analytical solutions to solve business problems of moderate complexity.
Strong analytical thought process and ability to communicate ideas is required; should be able to grasp new analytical and data visualization concepts quickly.
Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in analytical tools like SAS, SQL and MS Excel.
Prior experience in managing risk activities in retail lending is essential
Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
Strong track record of delivering on high value / critical projects
Ability to deliver under pressure and defend P&L numbers with senior management
Experience in data visualization tools like Qlikview /Qliksense /Tableau will be an added advantage
