We are seeking passionate data scientists who have experience in building auto-adaptive(feedback loop driven) and large scale SAAS systems.
As part of this role you will have the opportunity to work on statistical/ML/AI libraries,deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow/PyTorch,probabilistic programming libraries,Golang, Kafka, Spark, Kubernetes etc. in the cloud.
We strive to build the next gen platform that enables all our consumers to be able to take data backed decisions without any manual intervention. We are looking at extending our capabilities to be multi-tenant, multi-cloud, auto-adaptive and be able to support multiple concurrent experiments in the near future.
Get to know the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist for our experimentation platform teams, you would be responsible for designing, implementing, rolling out, and evangelizing the next generation of experimentation and event management platforms at Grab.
The Day-to-Day Activities
Work closely with the Experimentation Platform engineers to ensure trustworthy experimentation
Apply the latest technologies and theoretical developments in online experimentation and causal inference
Implement and deploy statistical/ML/AI libraries and services to be used by various product teams within Grab.
Become an in-house specialist and technical liaison for Data Science teams across all functions
Collaborate with other platform and Data Science teams on company-wide development systems
Develop novel methodologies for experimentation and causal inference
Patent/publish your innovation/findings
The Must-Haves
Masters (PhD preferred) in Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Applied Sciences, or related technical disciplines
Excellent understanding of online controlled experimental designs and causal inference
2-4 years of experience in developing data pipelines, building and productionalizing statistical/ML models
Strong Statistics and Machine Learning fundamentals
Good understanding of statistics and ML models
Hands-on experience in using mainstream deep learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch) preferred
Knowledge of probabilistic programming and bayesian statistics is a plus
Strong coding and engineering skills
Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Scala, Go (Python preferred)
Strong knowledge of SQL
Knowledge of distributed data processing frameworks (Spark preferred)
Experience with cloud-based development (AWS/Azure)
Familiarity with Git-based source control
Experience with probabilistic programming libraries (e.g. PyMC3) is a plus
Self-motivated, passionate to learn about new experimentation method, and willing to share knowledge with team members
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment while maintaining attention to detail and efficient time management Efficient and detail oriented time manager who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment
Excellent communication skills, ability to translate complex technical details for non-technical audiences
The Nice-to-Haves
Being an experienced software engineer would be an advantage
Prior knowledge of platform development and MLOps would be preferred
Experience in online adaptive experimentation would be an advantage
Experience in experimentation for multi-sided marketplaces would be an advantage
