Job Description : Primarily Responsibility:
Prepare product manual, instruction manuals/Application guide, Technical articles, Marketing documents, and other launch documents.
Need to obtain technical input, drawings, specifications, contracts, statements of work, acceptance test procedures, and related sources for the manuals and related documents from Vertiv engineers, designers, field service personnel, and other stakeholders.
Accommodate needed changes in scope, format, content, and methods of distribution.
Manage multiple manual projects simultaneously to meet deadlines of various projects.
Other projects and support duties as required.
Proofreading, content quality and formatting review of all the Vertiv product documents & media files thereon ensure that the documents developed are complete, accurate and as per the Vertiv product and brand guidelines.
Essential QUALITIES
Strong Writing and document formatting skills . must have excellent writing skills to be able to explain and proofread technical information clearly. Aspirant is expected to have working knowledge of different types of style guides or style manuals such as Chicago manual of style, Microsoft manual of style etc. S tyle guide is the choice of words, sentence structure, and paragraph structure, used to convey the meaning effectively
Communication skills . must be able to take complex, technical information and translate it for internal and external customer who have non-technical backgrounds.
Detail oriented . C reate detailed instructions for others to follow. As a result, they must be detailed and precise at every step so that the instructions can be useful.
Imagination . must be able to think about a procedure or product in the way that a person without technical experience would think about it.
Teamwork . must be able to work well with others. They are almost always part of a team: with other writers; with designers, Project/Product Managers, and illustrators; and with the technical people whose information they are explaining.
Strong learning and Technical skills . must be able to understand and then explain technical information.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Bachelor’s in Science or any Engineering stream with more than 3+ years of relevant/ core technical writing experience.
Ability to read technical drawings
Strong working knowledge of Adobe In-design , Visio. Knowledge in Madcap Flare software is preferable.
Basic understanding of drawing tools such as CAD/CAM/CREO etc.
Note: We seek core technical writer and not just designer. Suggest not to apply if aspirant simply possess experience of P arts Catalogue, Document Publishing, Parts Manual Creation/Revision, ECN and Part code creation.
