Schneider Electric is an energy management company and produces products and solutions related to Energy management. Schneider Digital is an IT backbone for Schneider Electric. Digital Engineering, a practice under Schneider Digital provides the Offer creation community of SE with the tools, processes, and applications to enable product creation and management.
PDM Data Operations team based out of India under Digital Engineering ensures data is effectively migrated from legacy systems to standard PDM built on PTC Windchill. PDM Data Ops team deals with data from legacy PDM apps, Creo, Solidworks, Unigraphics, Autocad among others and migrates it into PDM using ETL tools like Pentaho. The team uses custom built loaders to load the data into PDM.
This role is a Full-time Employee Position. The person for this role will report to PDM Data Ops team leader in India.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the development activities on the tools that are used internally by the team namely PDM Loader, MCAD loader, CNR and other tools.
PDM loader is a custom loader built upon the Windchill OOTB loader framework and needs to be enhanced periodically to ensure all the new objects/data model changes are accommodated into the loader.
MCAD loader is a custom tool developed to load MCAD data into PDM. Its needs to be enhanced from time-to-time or on need basis to meet the requirements of the incoming Business onboarding requests.
Enhancement and bug fixing on the existing loaders.
Articulate the development requirements to the other junior members participating in the activity. Review the code created by the junior members and ensure efficient SCM practices are followed in the team.
Contribute in optimizing or automating the manual processes that are currently being followed by the Data Ops team.
Technical Skills (Required):
5-6 years’ experience in Windchill Migration (Development of migration custom loaders)
Expert in WBM, OOTB Loader and custom Loader.
Strong knowledge in Windchill Data model
Expertise in Windchill customization, Windchill APIs
Expertise in Programming language Java, java scripting
Basic knowledge in PL SQL, Oracle database, shell scripting
Technical Skills (Good to have):
Worked in Linux, Solaris OS
Experience in ETL Tools like Pentaho, Tableau, Custom ETL Tools etc.
Perl or Python scripting
Soft Skills:
Focusses on how effectively the work is delivered rather than only delivering the work expected.
Good Communication skills
Good logical and analytical problem-solving skills.
Good team player and collaborates well with the team.
Ability to pay attention to detail and work in a fast- paced environment.
Ability to work in a culturally diverse workplace with people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.
Languages: English (must)
Qualification: BE/Btech in Computer Science Engineering or any other equivalent qualification.
