Job Description : Bykea is a Pakistan based app offering motorbike transport, deliveries, commerce and payment matchmaking services on its marketplace platform. Over 2 million registered users drive utility from Bykea in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi. We are expanding our team to take our company to the next level.

Team and Role

The role reports into the finance leadership and is charged with looking after the accounting and tax team. The role is responsible for recurring and ad-hoc executive-level financial management reporting and analytics. This individual must possess critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and possess an attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Documented analysis of the accounting for products, services and transactions across multiple business verticals (Mobility, Commerce, Food and Payments) – with a focus on revenue recognition, consolidation, valuation and impairment assessment;
Engagement with external auditors to substantiate accounting views and treatment;
Preparation of financial statements under IFRS;
Documentation of detailed accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IFRS;
Providing financial reporting training as part of a planned learning and development program to multiple stakeholders across designations and functions.
Take ownership of monthly, quarterly, bi-annually and annual tax reporting for Group Entities.
Guide tax implications on international payments and relieves available in the double taxation treaties for such payments.
Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
Handle any tax issues that may arise, and liaise with the relevant tax authorities when required.
Align with tax consultants on notices.

Requirements

A passion for continual learning!
Professional Accountant qualification – qualified ACCA, CA or equivalent
Minimum 5+ years experience in an IFRS based audit/advisory/controllership role with sound knowledge of IFRS
High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
Ability to function with a high degree of independence, adapt quickly and multi-task
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills across designations, functions, countries and cultures
