An exciting opportunity reporting into the Application Development Architect has become available at Bupa. You will be based in Melbourne or work remotely to design and develop mobile applications that are fit-for-purpose, meet the operating system guidelines, and achieve high quality user experience.
With a passion for mobile app development and coding, you will bring in your knowledge and skills in full-stack development to work collaboratively in a small team and be a part of strategic digital projects.
How will I help?
Key accountabilities include, but not limited to:
Develop native mobile applications for iOS and Android operating systems.
Support the end-to-end mobile application life-cycle.
Develop and/or support the application programming interface (API) required to support mobile functionality.
Understand business and technology requirements in order to provide suitable options and recommendations.
Research and/or perform proof-of-concept to support recommendations.
Stay up to date with the technology trends and best practices for mobile app development.
Work in a feature team to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Design interface and navigation that adheres to the operating system guidelines.
Oversee and mentor junior developers on projects.
Responsible for a large portion of coding that is usually distributed between multiple developers.
Responsible with reviewing all code work for accuracy and functionality.
Participate in the design phase of software projects and assist the application architect in planning and creating standards for the project.
Responsible for the implementation of the project.

What do I need?
Minimum five years hands-on industry experience in mobile app development.
Demonstrable portfolio of mobile applications released on the Apple Apps Store and Google Play Store.
Extensive experience with native mobile programming languages including Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, and Java.
Experience in applying third party libraries or SDK in the mobile applications.
Strong knowledge of iOS and Android UI design guidelines.
In-depth understanding of software development patterns such as MVC, MVVM, and able to apply suitable patterns depending on the requirements.
Significant experience in software development and knowledge of the industry practices to perform various development tasks such as, coding, app development and web development.
Good understanding of what is needed from the application programming interface (API) to support mobile functionality.
Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure.
Passion for delivering high quality mobile applications.
