At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a ‘home’ office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.

It is a perfect time to join our Cornwall Integrated Community Mental Health Teams (ICMHTs) since investment from our Adult Community Mental Health Transformation project is generating fresh thinking about how we deliver services and significant workforce expansion. If you are an experienced practitioner psychologist looking for opportunities to shape the future of our services, and you want to work alongside passionate, supportive colleagues as well as to benefit from great opportunities for training, CPD and career development… don’t hesitate to get in touch for an informal chat!

We have a vacancy in Carrick ICMHT, based in Truro, which is made up of highly motivated and supportive professionals focused on offering an outstanding therapeutic service. Our aim is to ensure service users feel empowered to progress their recovery and advance towards independently managing their own mental wellbeing.

We are looking for a team psychologist who will act as a strong clinical leader, working collaboratively with the team manager and consultant psychiatrists to ensure that the clinical team is fully supported to work with service users with complex mental health care needs. As an independent practitioner with your own team caseload, you will be part of a dedicated professional group providing psychological assessment, intervention, supervision and staff support within our community-based services.

We will recognise & value your clinical expertise, post-qualification training and specialist knowledge. We will enable you to use your clinical skills and listen carefully to your ideas for developing our community mental health services. We are dedicated to building a compassionate workplace where respect and care for service users and staff is at the heart of everything we do.

Here’s what we can offer you:-

You will be a valued member of the psychological professions and wider group of psychological services, including ICMHTs and other services within Adult Mental Health
A leadership role that enables you to be forward thinking and proactive in service user care
Opportunities for CPD and ongoing professional training and personal development
Regular reflective practice and supervision
Staff benefits, including planned well-being time
Opportunities to contribute to the development of community mental health services

If you are not already based in Cornwall, it is a fantastic place to live and work, with beautiful natural landscapes, stunning beaches, surfing, sailing and other outdoor pursuits and a relaxed, laid-back pace of life. There are excellent development opportunities for practitioner psychologists.

If you would like to know more, we would love to have an informal conversation with you. Please contact Dr Ben Green, Lead for Psychological Professions, Cornwall ICMHTs on benjamin.green6@nhs.net or 07826 893486.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Interviews will be offered either face to face or via video and will take place on 16th March 2022.
