Getty Images, the most trusted source of visual content in the world, is looking for a forward-thinking and driven Search Engine Optimization Strategist for our Content strategy and implementation. This role reports to the VP of SEO, aligning to the Chief Product Officer organization within Getty Images.
Your Mission at Getty Images – Move The World
The Senior SEO Strategist is responsible for bringing the diverse, inclusive and stunning imagery of the GettyImages.com and iStockPhoto.com websites to the world by improving visibility and traffic to the sites in Organic Search results of Google, Bing, Yahoo and more. You will outline, own and execute a content strategy for growth, in partnership with the VP of SEO and fellow strategists on an established and growing team. The role will create new and interesting content and editorial partnerships both within our organization and outside of Getty Images Inc.
The primary business objectives follow the customer journey for an imagery purchaser’s needs and our SEO team objectives: Increase organic search visibility (impressions) and traffic (clicks/sessions) with meaningful visitors which will increase Orders and Revenue.
The ideal candidate is data-driven, collaborates well with cross-functional teams and has a love of leveraging big data and analytics. The role will also partner with the Digital Marketing team to analyze EMEA and APAC regional trends and provide insights specific to the weekly changes in our top priority markets.

This is the position for you. Getty Images is devoted to growing the Organic Search channel footprint with committed SEO track engineers, executing the strategy of the SEO team’s work.
We have the top industry tools at your disposal and prioritize the work of our team for SEO gains. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your own skills working on a site of over 3 Billion pages, while you collaborate with cross-functional teams, training others on SEO best practices and guiding multiple projects.
Your Next Challenge:
Prioritizing the content creation and interconnectivity of our website’s categorization.
Own the SEO content creation strategy for the iStock blog, in collaboration with other partners inside and outside the SEO team.
Outline a seasonally driven editorial schedule targeting opportunities for growth of our traffic, business and improve how we serve customers.
Researching and leading SEO projects including business case creation, requirements gathering, kickoff, development, testing, launch, re-analysis and KPI performance.
Clearly communicating requirements to both tech-savvy and non-technical stakeholders.
Partner with Digital Marketing managers (paid search) on our Marketing team, in order to optimize and prioritize our work. Provide market insights utilizing internal and external reporting to analyze trends.
Provide direction and training to internal content teams on generating highly-creative, on-Brand content that gets visibility and creates positive customer outcomes.
Create and present written recommendations, reports, and presentations.
Train internal teams to embed SEO into the fabric of their day-to-day work.
Grow your skills as an SEO, take internal management courses, participate in our mentorship program and attend external training opportunities – your personal growth is a must for us!
What You’ll Need:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Content focused SEO, research and strategy.
Advanced keyword research using large, diverse data sets, across multiple languages.
Perform opportunity sizing, Gap analysis against competitors in the industry.
Open to maintaining working-hours for USA Eastern time zone a plus.
Technical SEO knowledge is not required – this role will prioritize a Content SEO strategy. However, there will be opportunities to grow and stretch your Technical SEO skills at all times as you grow with the role.
Understanding of on-site and off-site organic search ranking factors
Ability to use advanced web analytics including but not limited to: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Conductor rank-tracking, SEMRush, MOZ.
Experience writing and publishing materials to Content Management Systems like WordPress.
Knowledge of translation processing and services required for a multi-lingual track of work.
Relevant industry expertise in Search Engine Optimization techniques for Content creation and prioritization of at least 2-4 years.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Computer Science, Business or related field, or equivalent real-world experience.
Experience in Content Marketing and creating improved contextual relevance for Enterprise websites over 3 Billion pages at scale.
Daily experience in Google Search, Search Console and Google Analytics a must.
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript understanding but not fluency – you’ll grow your skills in this area with our team.
Excellent written and communication skills, English language fluency.
Multi-lingual speaker a plus. Knowledge of Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or GSuite (Slides, Sheets, Docs).
Ability to create meaningful business reports and tell stories with data.
Some knowledge of site crawling technologies like Screaming Frog SEO Spider, Botify or DeepCrawl a plus.
What to Expect (Physical and Mental Demands):
Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
Frequent sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing; Time of each will vary.
Constant operation of computer and frequent usage of other office machinery, including (but not limited to) calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
Constant assessment of accuracy and thoroughness of the work assignment.
This role is open to residents of the following countries: United States of America and Canada.
Full remote work for this role is available and determined by a qualified candidate’s proximity to a Getty Images office and their desire to work in-person or remote. Current office locations are New York City, Chicago, Seattle, Calgary.
